Help guys, just 30 mins back I was driving back home when suddenly I felt that steering is quite hard, I did not suspect anything wrong then, when I turn to our basement parking in the building I am sure there is something wrong since the engine is running on high rev while I'm just running hardly 40 km/hr. I made another turn just to observed and and park my Explorer on my parking slot. I have notice having oil leak. At first I though it is power steering oil leak but I have checked the reservoir and it seems level is normal. I can notice that lots of oil has been leak all over the engine. My personal diagnostic are:

Power steering oil level is normal so I started the engine and turn the steering right and left, it seems normal its not hard as I notice before.

I have checked the engine oil level it seems normal as well, there is no other indicator or abnormality in panel.

The oil looks like an AC compressor oil, as it does not look like power steering, it have notice that the oil is almost color less.

Now I am afraid to run it to ford service center at it might caused any further damage. I have called service center but there is no available slot right now only on Sunday will be possible. I have arranged for towing services as well.

Any idea where this oil might be coming from??

My Rig is 2009 ford Explorer having 63,000 KM run. Its sad that I just cross the warranty period.

Guys just wondering how many types of oil we are having in our explorer. I cant determine what kind of oil is that leaking

picture would be helpful here, You have many different oils though.

transmission
engine
power steering
A/C oil, but there is not very much in the system at all, so rule this one out.
transfer case oil
differential oil
coolant, although mainly water, can feel oily to the touch.

hopefully this will help you out a bit, check all fluids if you can.

I already wipe out all the mess does coolant looks oily too im thinking to drive it again to nearby shop to fixed it hope it will not break down.

Thanks guys so i will concentrate on coolant but i wonder why steering got harder

Is it possible it developed a coolant leak and sprayed coolant? It is oily, and could make the belt "slip"

You guys are great i just had a quick run and i found the problem water pump hose are having crack i just made a temporary remedy by bonding it with super glue i hope it will sustained until i got a replacement hose. Im not sure if i can DIY it looks like easy. It is around 2 inches hose could be the discharged line

Finally i manage to DIY the problem it took me almost a day to figure out how to changed the damage bypass hose of water pump

Its really great feeling once you have done something

Congrats man, feels great doesn't it? just make sure you top it up with coolant, and you will be good to go. It may need time to burp, so check it everyday for about a week, just to be safe, you luck you found the problem, before your truck overheated.

And only check it when the engine is cold!! Like 3-4 hours without driving. Do NOT take that radiator cap off hot!

I got 4 liters of coolant and i top up only the reservoir which is just hardly a liter i forget to check the radiator after test drive for 3km i notice that reservoir was empty so i pour the remaining coolant and leave it overnight without running. Next day i drove some 50km and check the coolant level and find out that reservoir was fully empty. I just top up with tap water (my bad) i might drain it again next time and filled it with full coolant.
