The Oil Pressure Gauge was reading no pressure so my husband installed a Oil Pressure sending unit. Now it reads for a few minutes and then drops. He has cleaned out some of the parts and then it will read again but then drops. The person at the auto store said that maybe it is the wire.... how do you check it? Does it sound like it is anything else? Any and all help is appreciated, we think we are on the right track being that it is now at least reading that there is pressure. Is it possibly clogged and if so how do we go about unclogging the parts???
Thank you

... Does the vehicle run ? Does it run weirdly ?

Mine has bounced around for a few years now...I ignore it. Nothing is wrong w/ the car, the sender is just whacked.

check the sensor who sends the info to the gauge.

i had a similar problem with my temperature gauge.

You can turn it on and it runs with the normal noises no funny sounds or anything
