Oil Pressure Guage Movement!

If the oil pressure guage is just an idiot guage, why does it fluctuate. Even after a fresh oil change. Mine, for example stays on the L of normal, and when I turn on the AC, it moves out of the normal near the high oil pressure mark.

Why is this?
