I'm having all sorts of problems with my Explorer, but I picked it up cheap and intended for it to be a project, but it's gonna be a lot more work than I thought, haha. Oh well.

This forum has been very helpful so far, so I figure I'll just start a thread to contain all my various questions as I go, if that's okay.

Alright first of all, my car came with cloth non-power non-heated seats, and I picked up a set of power leather heated driver, passenger and the 3 rear seats. Trying to wire them up right now, having issues; the write-up I found did not work for me for whatever reason. I have the feeling it doesn't have to be that difficult though; I'll figure it out eventually. So any suggestions are appreciated.

Anyway, I peeked under the column today and found this:

The previous owner put some stupid aftermarket alarm in it that doesn't even work, and this looks pretty non-OEM, so I'm wondering if this is related to the alarm? If so, can I just all this crap out and make the OEM alarm/key fobs work again?

Next up: This guy is just hanging out under the steering column; does he have a partner that he should be connected to?

Lastly (for tonight), this is what I'm looking at under the driver's seat. Is the box on the bottom the memory seat thing?

If so, I want to rip it out because I've heard it complicates things big time, and I don't care about it. I'd like to keep the capability to make the heated seats work eventually, but right now I'm just focused on getting the power to work.

Even though I have tons more questions and things to do, I'll leave it at that for tonight.
Any help/suggestions are appreciated,
Thanks!

Put a new EGR in and did the zip tie throttle "mod" today... seems to run better, but still erratic. The first time starting it up with the new EGR it idled beautifully, and ran great, until it reached normal operating temperature, then it would stall when you came to a stop. So I unplugged the MAF and it ran better (again).
I'm convinced it's just not going to run well and idle smooth until I redo the upper intake manifold very carefully, check for cracks/leaks and use Ultra Black. It's just gotta have a leak somewhere; I've tested/cleaned/replaced almost everything else.
