I have a 2008 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer and on the optional instrument cluster where the compass is displayed, there is also a temp displayed. What is that temp measuring, the inside vehicle temp or the outside? My display seems to be stuck on 75 deg. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

It reads the outside air temp, not sure where the sensor is.

The sensor is mounted inside the grill on the hood latch assembly. It sounds like the sensor might be defective or maybe one of the wires from it is cut/nicked so that it is always sending the same amount of resistance to the display.

Thanks for the help. However, I have a dual automatic temp control center and the outside temp is displayed there and it is correct. Is the temp display on the instrument cluster suppose to measure the same outside temp? I thought I had read that if the vehicle is equipped with the dual automatic temp control then that is where the outside temp is displayed. If that's the case, what is the temp on the instrument cluster?

Thanks for your help/
