Overcharging battery

Good afternoon everyone, I have a 2004 ford explorer xlt 4.0. Rwd, I recently been having a issue everyime I accelerate the battery guage goes up. As soon as it reaches the top I hear a click that shuts off all interior electronics, but the engine continued running. I have look at other threads discussing this matter but I still haven't had any luck. I recently replaced battery, alternator, checked/cleaned all ground, and checked all fuses but not lucky anyone have any idea I can do next? Thank you for the help in advance

Did you have this issue before replacing the alternator? Sounds like a failed voltage regulator, which I believe is internal on these.
