Overhead console lighting

The lamp and mode buttons on the overhead console of my 98 XLT do not light up. Should they?

Haha right, I am to worried about getting the damn thing fixed from the fender bender, a few days ago. I could care less about the bottens!

Along with the couple of hundred other things...

I'll do it when I do the LED conversion of the lamps and figure out what to do with the remote holder area...something cool has to happen there, like a drop down LCD screen or something.
