I just bought a JBL 50x4 amp and I have Infinity Reference 60 watt RMS up front, but in the rear I have Polk DX7's 40 watts RMS. Will I be okay to overpower the Polks by 10 watts? Thanks

You'll be fine

The definition of a speaker's rated RMS is how much current (in watts) can be put through a speaker for eight hours without the voice coils melting. So overpowering by a slight amount won't hurt ya.

RMS is not the max wattage. The peak power handling on the dx7's is 130 watts. so your defnitly fine.

good to overpower but not to the extreme..underpower wears the speakers
