Nice, Nice!
I just won rims just like that today on ebay n2mud. Are they American Racing series 055?

So overall, how much do the 31x10.50 raise the explorer? inch??? 2?

Here's mine. I always though stockers were 28s? Which would mean it'd raise the Explorer and inch and a half?

Bah, he wanted 31"s , arent those 30"s ??:D

oh wait those are you winter tires, those are 31"s you run 30"s though in the summer:p

i guess it depends on what size tires came stock. Mine had 255/65/16 (if i remember correctly) which are around 30's.

though by brothers 96' has 235/65/15 (im not possitive about the 65 part).. so those might be 28's....

the 235/75s were 28s, and the 255/70s were 30s I do believe.

Get with the times XKid! I run 31s in the winter!!;) Actually they were just put on about 3 weeks ago :D

i had 265/75/15 which is about a 30.6" so the 31 isnt a big difference. once i get a little lift ill go bigger for sure.

Owners of X's with 31x10.50 tires with NO LIFTs, post ur pics!

I had GY P235 75R15 RT/S on my 1998 Explorer XL, 4x4. Finally decided to try the GY 31"x10.50 R15 ATS. Speedo is reading slightly slower. The ATS is slightly louder than the RTS tread. NO LIFT added, and the wheel wells still have about 1" to 1.5" of clearance at the tightest spot (fronts) even at full turns (no rubbing). The 31"x10.50 fills the wheel wells up more, adds a muscular look to the body (without overdoing it). I'll update later once I get the speedo recalibrated. So far, very glad I did it. The P235/75 is 28.9" and the 31"x10.50 is 30.8" so this is approx 2" larger in diameter, so it now rides about 1 inch higher off the ground. I think the Explorer should come stock with GoodYear 31"x10.50 R15 ATS !! Anyone have any ideas or advice that I should be aware of? Is it necessary to adjust pinion gears, transmission, speedometer, etc. to avoid longterm wear or damage? :p

As for HEIGHT COMPARISONS...here is a Red Explorer with P235 75/R15 (29" diameter) beside the Green with 31"x10.50 R15 ... compare the bumper, headlight, mirrors, and it appears to give more like 2" of height. I thought it was only 1" but even getting into the vehicle feels notably much higher.
