Has anyone replaced a "Camshaft Position Sensor" on a 5.0 liter (1997) AWD Explorer?
I have the part; it looks like two screws are all it takes . .
HOWEVER . . . there is alot of talk about bringing #1 cylinder to top-dead-center ("TDC") & the use of a special tool for the job (which I'm hoping only refers to the distributor-like assembly which penetrates into the engine block (which I'm not trying to replace).
If I need to get this to #1 cylinder at TDC, I'll need a buddy's help to get started, so - I'd appreciate advice. Thanks. :exp:
