Pig vs Explorer

Bar B Que anyone?

While driving ( about 70 MPH ) from Arcadia, FL to Sarasota on 2 lane SR 72 the other night a small wild pig decided to cross the road at the last second.

Needless to day the Explorer won. Not much left of the ~30 ponder and some damage to the truck.

A chunk of the air dam was destroyed as well as parts of the bumper cover. The passenger side fog light surround went missing.

Thank God for the quarter car wash to clean up the gore.

Now I have to replace (1) the air dam (2) the bumper cover (3) fog light surround (4) SHORTS. It could have been a lot worse.

Naw, I didn't have the camera with me and I went directly to the car wash; wild pigs smell awful.

Wish I had some of the ribs .... this is gonna cost me some bucks. Thank God it wasn't one of the larger hogs that frequent this area.

I'm sorry to hear about it. but I gotta say that it's funny as hell to me. I live in jersey, so to hear someone hit a wild pig catches me off guard. It could have been much worse. You could have taken it head on and destroyed alot more.

Sorry to hear about that Al. I would have done the same about washing it because they do indeed smell disgusting.

Ouch... Sorry to see the damage.

I ran over a big javalina out here a couple years ago in my Explorer. It was at night and I didn't see it until it was right in front of me. WHAM! I expected to see carnage under the truck, but there wasn't any. The next day I drove back and it was laying off to the side of the road. It looked like it probably weighed 100lbs.

If you're early enough, you may sight a deer
Your aim will improve with the rate of its fear

Practice makes perfect so steer with a will
With luck you'll surprise something over the hill
Put your foot down, speed as fast as you can
You're certain to kill, before you get banned

On Motorway, lane, or highway, that's best
Take the wife and the kids and rise to the test
Once the target's in sight, its chances are slim
And the thud that is death permits you that grin

When convention becomes to much for you Veggies
Get out in the car and race between hedges
Dawn's the best time for a surplus of sport
And you're gone on your way before you are caught

Road Kill's the best, of that there's no doubt
When else can you murder whenever you're out
There's no need for guilt, false sorrow or care
You can always pretend you were just unaware

Come one and all, take the wheel today
Let's make that kill, then race on our way
If it's caught on the bend, or just over the hill
It deserves to be splattered as Main Road Kill.

wow that sucks sir, but think of it this way. You are lucky you did not swerve and go off roading.

What is the speed limit there?? I have been on that long and boring road in the past, but 70 seems little high!!
