Pint Limited trim with Bumper paint?

Ok so I've had my Explorer for a while now and love everything about it except the horrid gray trim on the bumper and side.

Now I was wondering if i could paint it with a darker gray bumper pain and what prep I would need to do.

I was bored so here's it Photoshopped kinda how I would like it to look.

Ok I'm impatient so Bump.
Anyone know if the bumper paint would hold up?? Would I need to sand??

JoeDirt any opinion?

This stuff works pretty good. Lays down nice.

Last time i bought some it was at an auto paint supply store...Thought i saw some at pep boys the other day.
On the trim of the bumper its worked fine for me..
I would use wax and grease remover, hit it with a scotch brite 7447 and put a couple coats of trim paint on it...
Keep in mind that i'm a backyard body guy so there are probably better ways to go about it. :)

Ok sounds like easy prep work.

Do you think the Duplicolor trim pain would work cause I know I can find it local?

Alright I found a picture of a 2nd gen limited that someone did the same thing I want to do to it.
