Sirhk100- I have tried every highend shop in Orange County. Camburg told me that they did not want the project and they would not help me out. SI would not help. Baja Shop wanted $10,000 for just the Upper and Lower A-arms nothing else and he would not help me if I built the arms. Other shops I tried are H&M Motorsports, Solo Motorsports, also a place right by my house I think they are called RPS they make desert race trucks. But none of these companies wanted to help me.
The only place that would help me if I built the arms or would want to make a kit is Baker Motorsports thats why I am going to stick with Baker.

Nothing wrong with that!!! Baker is one of the best. Sounds like you're doing it right with uniballs for pivots on the spindles instead of b/j. Did he say if he would use heims at the frame pivots or stick with bushings? If you seriously follow through with this there's going to be a pretty good demand. Is there any reason you're not just going with one of the highend Ranger kits out there? Does the Ranger stuff not just bolt right on?
I guess I should be typing this in the suspension thread instead of hijacking this one... I'll cut and paste it over there...

GIJOE,
I will definitely be your second customer. I was gonna have Mc Neil do my long travel but his shop is all the way in Tijuana. I don't know if i want to leave my car there.

Sirhk100- At the frame pivots we were thinking about Uni balls also or Hemis. I still do not know what I will use yet. I am told that the Ranger kits will not bolt up right and that it will not work right because 2wd Rangers use coil springs when they are stock.
SCEXPLORER- if you want I have started a thread on this subject in the Suspension section if you would like to check it out.

Thanks GIJOE. I like your X as well. Didn't cost me very much and it looks great. I am really happy with it. Except for the worn down brake pad that chewed up my rotor.
Oh man, I can't wait to get out there and play in the sand. It's going to be awesome. Do we have a ruff estimate of how much people + trucks going? I am bringing 3 people with 3 explorers (including myself).

I know, I know, but with the new baby coming and all it would just be easier to leave Sherman at home with the old lady, she won't drive it so I know it will be safe.

I have a good feeling it's going to be a good turnout. I can't wait to put my X in the sand.
Side note:
What are some of the "essentials" needed for pismo, besides the obvious, camping gear and such?
