ok, guys that are going to the gilmer trail! I was wondering if any of yall would be willing to donate a straight front axle that will fit an explorer. i know this is kinda weird of me to ask but im 17 with about 0 dollars in my name after insurace and gas gets me. i want to go staight axle so i can get rid of IFS, i have a freind that works at Pellit Performance who is willing to help me install but i have 2 get one first. also will be willing to accept other parts that will help, cause some day i wanna have a beast explorer like all of yall in the elite explorers. i know some of you have parts lying around with no good use, so pls help. thanx.

cool... get to see the pumpkin in action. :)
test drove the xj last nite and no brakes. one thing after another. but i am there for sure.
If your brakes fail and you come bailing down a hill then aim for my junk. It's old iron; you wont hurt it. :p Also, there's not much of it left to tear up anyway.

i'll keep that in mine, james.

hey trakmgk

what are the specs on ur 33s again?

My truck should be out of the shop on Tuesday with the new bumper, so I should be ready to go. They are also having to relengthen the tv cable from bow tie overdrives, which they say is about a foot too short.

almost ready. i think part of my brake problems are air in the lines. so, let see if bleeding it does any good. bought the oh-so-very expensive injector to be replaced also. other than that.. i think it is good to go.

are all the guys that are going on this trip driving rigs with serious mods and lifts?

Everyone on this run will be running at the least 35's (DeJello?). All vehicles will be locked front and back with the exception of a few. This is considered a Big Dawg run for sure.

jake, i am not that big of a dawg, so, come on out and if the crew heads off to death valley, we can detour to something less white knuckling. i only got 33s only also.. but hey, u never know. tons of trails out there. :chug:

swak,

considering the fact that i am a virgin to the gilmer trails, and also that my x-sport is my daily driver, i think that i will wait to break my cherry until there are some non-lifted rigs going that i can drive with. i don't want to go all the way there (probably six hours of driving) just to park my rig to ride with somebody else. plus, i have no lift and 31's. i'll pass, guys. have fun and lemme see some pics when you get back. i want to get shackles and coil spacers before i hit gilmer anyways. anybody got a line on some used ones for cheap?

I have some Warrior shackles that are yours for 15.00 dollars plus 15.00 shipping. So thirty and they are yours.

And if I am not mistaken Jeff (SVO) has some F150 Spacers he will be selling.

so we get there at 10ish on saturday and then leave 10 ish on sunday? is this how its ganna go? i need to plan my work schedule.

Try to be there by 9 am on Saturday morning. I dont want you to miss the group.

EVERYONE PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING-

We will arrive at 9am Saturday morning. We will meet at the front office and wait there until 9:30 for the stragglers. If you get there later than 9:30am then contact the group via CB. we will be on channel 30. Remember that-

CHANNEL 30 :)

And for those of whom are towing a rig. We can sign in at the office at 9 then take your truck and trailer to camp to unload. We will then meet back at the office and wait until 9:30.

Oops, didnt think about camp. :p Anyhoo, there will be SOMEONE at the office from 9-9:30. If you see an Explorer(s) or a God aweful green early Bronco, then holler 'cuz its one of us. :)

so then what time would we be leaving?
