Plasti Dip Rims

Plasti Dip Rims & Roof.

Had some decent weather in NY today so I decided to do my rims.

Used--->4 1/2 cans of plasti dip
black magic wet tire gel
4 garbage bags

2 cans of black for the roof and 3 can of plasti dip gold metalizer.
I still need to put 2 or 3 more coats of the gold on top when I get a chance.

Got the idea from these pics.

looks good man. will do this mod when weather is consistent here in KC. 70 degrees one and 25 degrees and snowing the next lol.

Goo Gone gets rid of any plasti dip over spray very easily with a micro fiber cloth.

doing a vinyl wrap would be alot easier and cheaper on mirrors and handles..

Sweet job on the rims, where u get that stuff and would it work on my 97 alloys?
Also love those new mirrors they put on the Explorer If anyone totals one in the ArkLaMiss area please give me name of the salvage yard that gets it I wanna custom install those mirrors on my 97

I was thinking about the vinyl wrap but I didn't find what I was looking for plus I think it would be a little harder to remove and it might leave some residue. I got a quote for $300 just to do my hood in carbon fiber wrap so I just decided to plasti dip it.

You can get the black color cans from home depot it should be somewhere around the spray paint isle and yes it will work on alloy wheel just youtube it.

Has anyone plasti dipped stock 18 inch rims on an XLT? Thinking about doing mine while I save up for those 22s.

Those are 20" wheels on a Limited.

Thxs for the correction Peter. I just redid mine last month to blue black but i think I'm going back to just black.
