So new guy here, wondering if anyone has any experience with using plasti dip for wheels, grills misc parts etc... I have ****ty stock steel wheels with gay hubcaps on my X but my father in law just picked up some Sport Trac wheels for 50 bucks (he just wanted the tires for his Tacoma) and he gave me the rims. I am trying to black out my X and was thinking of powdercoating the rims, but **** for the cost of powdercoating around here, I can pickup a set of Crager soft 8's. I have a buddy that used plastidip on his ricer and they turned out great. I also have seen a few videos on Youtube (mostly VW kids) doing the same thing. I realize it's a cheap solution but that is right up my ally at this point. Any input, advice, reservations you could send a new guy?

I've never used plasti dip for something like that.

I've used it to cover the wire/connectors at the battery and found that the underhood heat plus the Arizona dry weather made the plasti dip dry and crack and eventually it would fall off.

It took a few years (2 I think) for it to have problems.

Thats my only experience with it.
