My Explorer has been down for 10 days now with this problem. I was having some difficulty shifting while standing still and decided to bleed the clutch. I screwed up and let the reservoir run dry. Clutch pedal lost all resistance. After unsuccessfully attempting to bleed for hours using the Haynes method, method listed on the Tech Tips page (removing master cylinder to slave cylinder line), and Mityvac method, I replaced the master cylinder. Still can't get a pedal with the new master cylinder. Arrgggh!!!

I have seen several posts where people had this same problem, but never saw an answer for how to fix.

Thanks to anyone who can help!!!

Ron

Have you tried this?

http://www.mityvac.com/tech.html

It looks like a logical solution. And the best part is that this one you can definetly do it on your own.

Let me know if it works out.
