Hey guys, I am very sorry about starting a NEW Thread about this, even though I have done quite a bit of research on this, I have yet to see my problem. First of all, once the engine gets warm, it has a "miss" in the idle. You can tell this by the rear tail pipe spuddering when the miss hits. Also, if you engage in gear when the miss or low idle is in place, it will cause the Explorer to stall! The idle other than that is fine. If it wasn't for the miss, I believe that the idle would be fine. Can anyone please tell me where to start! Thanks guys Seth

Have you pulled the spark plugs and checked them?? Make sure they are clean and are gapped properly. Bad plug wires may cause the miss too. If the truck has some miles on it, and if you (or the previous owner) haven't changed the plugs and wires, I would start there.

It might help to clean the Mass Airflow Sensor located in the top of the airbox. A dirty MAS will cause all kinds of little annoying problems. There are quite a few threads around here describing how to clean it, but if you have any questions about it, ask...I and many others have done it.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset the computer. In fact, you might want to try that first, just to see if it works. If not, then try the plugs and MAS.

Thanks

Thanks for your wuit response, I have heard that before also, but hearing it agian, just might do the trick. I appreciate it, and I will let you know. Thanks again. Seth

No problem. I hope you are able to find the source of the miss. Good luck!
