'97 XLT
About a month ago I replaced all four rotors and all pads on my 97 XLT. After about 2 weeks I started to notice this odd moaning noise when accelerating from a dead stop. It doesn't do it right after start-up, it usually takes 10-15 minutes but everytime accelerate after the "warm-up" it makes the noise. The best way to describe it is that it kinda sounds like "Chewbaca". I'm sure I did the brakes correctly, lubed the pistons and slide deals and put the brake noise stuff on my pads. This is the weirdest noise I've ever heard from my truck.

AWD truck?

What makes you think its coming from the brakes if its under acceleration?

It was the only thing I had changed, don't really know what the noise could be. It only does it for 5-7 seconds at acceleration then goes away.

tell me about your 97, is it a SOHC 4.0L, a OHV 4.0L, or a 5.0L (v8)

also is it 2wd or AWD?

It's a OHV 4.0L with AWD. I never take it off road and only use the 4WD in the snow. It has 101,000 miles on it.
