Hello all~
1997 ford aerostar here with a 4.0L OHV engine.... Has anyone replaced the plugs and wires on this engine before? It appears as it will be a pain in the ass. What i want to know is can it be done without moving the engine, and if it just requires patience and snaking your hand. Thanks

George

I've done mine twice so far... just last night was the second time. The worst one is the driver's side rear... nearly impossible to get to. Use a spark plug socket, joint, and extension. I got the socket on while under the van, then did the turning from under the hood. The passenger side rear can be easily reached from underneath. The other four can be reached from the wheel wells. Make sure you have a LOT of extensions.
