Plugs and Wires

Got a 99 Mercury Mountianeer with 85k miles and need to change the plugs and wires. Does anyone recommend what type of plugs and wires to use. I hear motorcraft plugs alot but what kind?????
And wires to?

Motorcraft work well.

Motorcraft double platinum and their wires. I don't know the exact part #, but any part store should know. Or you can get them online from Torrie at www.fordpartsnetwork.com , he usually has a deal going on plugs and wires.

What is the recommended time to start changing plugs and wires? Aren't they good for 100,000 miles?

They say 100K, but in my expierence they don't hold up that long. I changed out mine at 80K, and the gaps were worn to almost .70 on one side, and over .60 on the other.

I'd change the double plats every 60K or so.
