Poll: Mud Terrain Tires

This poll was originally for 32x12.50x15 tires but im starting to thing they were typos on webpages and that size doesnt exist (except for the mickey thompson).

I want the biggest 32 i can find but they're all pretty close- its give and take. So i want a vote of the tires below : by price/treadwear/off-roadability.

Lets see what the overall site thinks about MT's.

BTW: if the first couple of posts in this thread dont make sense to you- thats because this thread has been modified greatly from its original form... so just go with the flow

Dont know of any radial tires in 32x12.50 size. BFG/Goodyear dont make them. If they did I would have them on my truck. The tire manufacturer websites usually have all the info on actual size/diameter/treadwidth etc as they are all a little different. Tirerack also has that info. I have ord'd frm Tirerack, 4wheelparts, and Discount as well as local places that are willing to match/come close to their prices. If you find a 32x12.50 let us know, Im sure there are others out there that would like to run that size. I did alot of looking to find that size and never found it.

man I don't know, they look like standard 32x11.50's to me. You know some people have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to tires, they probably bought their trucks with them already on it and forgot the width. As for me, I've never seen one in real life. As far as I know only swampers and some of the other old mud tire companies even make them such as mickey thompson. Let us know what you find.

yea mickey thomspon makes the baja belted in that size but everyones turning me off them so i dont think i want to spend $180/tire on crappy tires just for the extra inch width.

i have a friend that works at a BFG place so he's gonna try to find out for me.

On another note: does anyone know the actual dimensions of the 32x11.50x15 BFG MT?

All of your examples are either missprints, or the owener just doesn't know what they are talking about. MT is the only manufacture to make a 32x11.50. Several company's sell 31x12.50, even BFG. Unless you are a serious off-roader and don't commute, then you don't want a bias tire. I love Mickey's but they don't last long and drive like crap on the pavement.

My vote is for MTR for offroad capability or Dueler MT for tread wear.

you think the goodyears are better offroad then the Duelers? (wow, first person to put both of them ahead of the BFG's!)

dude I run the duelers but I used to hang out with a guy with a jeep on 31 MTR's all the time. I think they would probably own duelers in most anything except mud. Be an interesting test if he still had his.

15 thousand some people on this site, 13 thousand asking questions on tires and only 20 votes on this thread... c'mon guys

I just got myself some pro-comp MT tires. They are buy 3 get one free at 4WP right now. So about 120$ a tire. :)

And where is the pole option for them...

yea- i wish pro-comp would do that sale in like 2 months. Im not really leaning towards them right now because they're very expensive and seem to be the smallest out of the MT tires listed..

but they do say "EXPLORER" on the sidewall

Moderator just have forgot to add them in- this pole was changed from its original form.

When they are added in- the poll still holds for pro-comp MT's at $170 a tire, not $120 because when it comes time to purchase them the sale might not be around. So they best be worth $40 more than the BFG's per tire to get votes (thats one thing im curious to see on here)

Well, the pro comp sale started yesterday. When I got them... A week ago, I just asked how much they could cut off the price. The guy knocked almost 30$ per tire off the price. 4WP is pretty generous, and it never hurts to ask.

oh i know, i got my buddy pro-comp AT's mounted and balanced on black rock crawler rims all shipped for $700ish ... thats more than $100 off

but i can probably find discounts on the other tires too- so i want to keep this as simple and basic as possible for the best results.

I purchased a set of 31x11.5 Futura Dakota's at Pep Boys I think they were like $80 each on sale. Even when not on sale they are only like $90 a piece...

I think it was like $330 mounted and the whole nine yards

Really a great deal considering their tread is very similar to BFG's All Terrians.

They perform flawless on most situations minus really thick sticky red clay south carolina mud after a thunderstorm....other then that they are great for off road use on dirt, gravel, mud, water, and even snow.

I think this is similar to what you are looking for

They (Pep Boys) also carry a "mud terrian" style tire for like $10 more

Clemson,
Thanks for the info. Im looking at strictly a mud terrain tire. I havent heard of them but ill check them out. I know there are a lot of mud terrain tires out there for great prices; ie: the Uniroyal Laredo MT has some good reviews on this site also and are very cheap at BJ's.

The 6 tires i chose for this poll were chosen due to popularity. They are the most spoken of tire and therefore i though i would get the best results out of these tires- unlike the ones you mentioned where you may be the only person to vote on it.

I do appreciate any information on other tires out there and will follow up on them as well for those of you out there not voting because your favorite tire isnt listed there. And im looking for an MT tire- not AT.

-And lastly but not least for those offering other tires; try to make sure they come in a 32x11.50x15- im not budging from that size unless you got a free 3"BL for me or find a 32x12.50x15 tire :D
