power antena won't go!

My power antena won't move up/down...I can hear the motor running but it will not move the mast. I can manually lift the mast up and down save for the last 2 inches very easily, like it is off of a track or something. Could something have come loose inside or broken? I did search and people were talking about removing the inner fender and getting at the motor...is there a way to check the problem from the top side where the most protrudes out of the fender?

I'm almost 100% sure that one of the tooth on the plastic track is chipped off. Get on Ebay and find a power antenna mast replacement. It'll be a whole lot cheaper than getting it from the dealer. Good luck!!!
