power door locks

My drivers side door lock on my 91XLT wont unlock when I push the button. If I push it 3 or 4 times it will come up. Is there some trick to fixing this or do I have to spend $$$$$$$?

pull the door panel and check the connection plug, somtimes they will lose contact, if good then your can try lithium grease spray(something non-conductive) in/on the actuator, then work it by hand for awhile(cause if it's binding you don't want to burn it up by pushing the switch to many times) otherwise it's(actuator) probably going bad, in which case they can be kind of a pain to replace, but not to expensive, if your on a budget try a bone yard as they are probably a dime a dozen there.
