I am looking to install a power inverter 500-1000w. I am trying to find the right location for it (front seat, back seat, cargo area) pros cons of these areas??? Also It will be hardwired in. If I put it in the cargo area can I utilize the power cable for my stereo Amp and just "splice" into it as to not run another length of 6g cable through the cabin or is this a bad Idea? I have the option to turn off the power to the amp from the head unit if I need to.

Anyone with Pics of their installs I would love to see them.

Thanks

A 500-1000 W inverter would relative be big -- perhaps the size of a small to midsized audio amplifier

Some have had good experience will smaller sized inverters behind or under the seats. However, since your choice would be bigger and therefore produce more heat - I would recommend the rear cargo area. You can even be creative an place the inverter behind one of the rear panels. Then you could extend the wires / outlets to a more suitable location

If you have a moderate system then the 6 ga wire should be sufficient. I hope that by "splicing" onto it you meant using some sort of distribution block / splitter. It would be nicer if it was fused as well

The better option would be to run a wire directly from the battery. Run this under the vehicle all they way up to the rear lamps. There is space there to route the wire inside the cab. This works best if you intend to install the amp in the rear of the vehicle or behind any of the rear panels
