back, up and down. I jiggled the control and it went forward a little, but no more. Does this sound like a switch? Would contact cleaner help? Thanks

sounds a bit dumb...but move the floor mat outa the way...other then that.....check the wires...mine did that once...and it never did it agin...it just fixed itself.

Check for binding on the seatbelt rail slide. My passenger sides does this. I have to hold the seat belt receiver back while sliding the seat forward.

Check to see if the plastic near the ends of the guides are interfering.. Mine did on my passenger seat. I had to wrap mine in tape to prevent it from interfering..

Mine did the same thing on the drivers side. I put a zip tie around it and it slides just fine now. There was a rough spot on the plastic strip and it was catching.

My driver side seat belt rail was also binding. My electric seat motors were also walking (moving) when the vehicle was in motion. Converted to manual seat slider.

This thread was just about in it's 10-year slumber. :D

10 year old thread came in handy. Just fixed our 96 Explorer using this info.

Was it really necessary to bring this thread back from the dead? Lol. If you do that on other forums, you will be in alot of trouble. They are lenient with that here.

If the info is good what is the problem?

Most forum moderators typically have rules against reviving old threads, and it also tends to anger forum members. Luckily, the moderators on here are lenient and usually don't mind old threads becoming active again.

I agree. I am running into this issue now and will try these ideas.
