I'm preparing to install power seats from a '98 Explorer in my '02 Sport Trac which currently doesn't have power seats. The seats are not heated, so I just need to run a hot wire and a ground. I'm looking for recommendations as to a power source for the seats.

It is very easy to run a dedicated hot line down the drivers side from the distribution block in the engine compartment - just make sure it is fused or even add an inline fuse
That is how I set them up in my old ranger and grounded through one of the seat bolts into the body

I'm thinking rerouting the wires to the cigarette lighter is an option too. Already uses a 20 amp fuse, and with the power port, I'll never use it anyway.
