I'm own a EB 2007 4.6L 3V 4WD with 95k miles. I had stopped my truck for three months. I was sick. But I'm ok again, but my truck has a noise likely from power steering pump. Have ever somebody have replaced the power steering pump?

I did not replace it but needed to take it off when I was replacing my engine. It's held by 3 long studs that seized inside the pump casing. It took some beating and penetrants to get them out, and that was with engine out already. Not sure how I would do that in the car.

A noisy power steering pump on a ford is typically due to a low fluid level.

The oil level is max. The noise is something like a bearing when is beginning to fail. I did de test with a piece of hose using it like a stethoscope and the noise is coming from internal pump case. I'd like some advice or procedure to take power steering pump off and reinstall it. Thanks in advance

Just typing from memory:
Remove the accessory belt, remove drivers side wheel, wheel liner. Disconnect the hoses from the pump. Remove the 3 ( I believe) 13 mm nuts, or if possible the nuts with the long studs together. Then you should be able to remove the pump.

There is a nice video on youtube from Maculoco how to drain and refill the PS pump properly.

Flag G... You was right....The liquid level wasn´t enough. I filled the reservoir with Motorcraft Mercon V and good bye noise.....Than guys

Why was it low ? It does not evaporate, keep an eye on it.
