Power steering

I have a 2000 Explorer and don’t have the manual to it.
I want to flush the power steering system, but not sure which fluid to use.
I was told to use Dextrol/Mercon automatic transmission fluid.
Then someone else told me to use Power Steering fluid.
Which is the correct one to use?

For my 97', the owners manual says to use Motorcraft MERCON ATF.
