Power windows possessed!

Ok, I thought my wife was yanking my chain, but I drove the crazy 02 Explorer and shes right. The power windows only work with the doors OPEN.
If the doors are shut, they wont go up or down, open the door and they work fine. Everything else is fine so far? Any ideas on this one?

Check the wiring in the boot between the door and body. You probably have a broken wire(s) that are in contact when the door is open, but gets disconnected when the door is closed.

Ok, I took it apart. Was thinking it was power to the switch, it wasn't. It was the ground wire. Pulled a new wire, works like a champ! Thanks
