getting cold up here quick. got a lot of work ahead this weekend on my 200k plus mile x....

suffering from the cold shift problems as of monday

tranfer case engages into 4 wheel high albiet noisily but fails to engage into 4 wheel low. just makes some noise and then cluncks out of 4 wheel drive

front axle universals need replacement

going to start taking the truck apart tomorrow night. hopefully the all will go smooth...

ugh....

my plans

-new vacuum modulator
-clean speed governor
-service transfercase
-replace all universals

anyone else gotta prep their truck for the winter...

Yeah, I turn the temp knob from the cool to the warm side..:D
Actually I'm just in need of an oil change.

You t-case probably just needs the shift motor cleaned. Has the trans ever been serviced? I need to do a bushing replacement on everything. I have a few chips I need to take care of, as well as some undercoating.

My winter maintenance consist of switching back to my old wheels, switched to 5W-30 for the first time since we got it(I think it likes it better :D) and thats about it. I'm not gonna worry about painting the underneath, I hope all the paint I've put on there rusts off so I can take and clean it up a little bit better and give it a nice coat in the Spring. O yea, and switching from 2WD to 4AUTO :p
