I can never tell the difference between Premium, OR Regular. What is the benefit from using Premium fuel? Is there any difference in HP.

The actual science of gasoline can be complicated. However, to be brief, if your engine doesn't need the higher octane fuel, it is not going to do a thing for you.

yea, that amoco ultimate looks like it would enhance your truck, no only 89 octane will be fine, to be honest the higher octane actually runs the truck. make sure you don't put diesel in it, like my parents did with a rent a car. Let me tell you, that car will run ver yvery rough. It was a laughing matter. The ford taurus was running so crapy when we returned it to Avis. They didn't know what was going on, and we never got charged for damaging the engine. Just make that a lesson to all of you. never put leaded or diesel, it will totally mess it up. You dont want that big growl that the trucks and the ford excursion make. Although that growl is awesome, it will mess up your truck.

I have worked at a Mobil station for a few years now and would extremely reccomed their Super Plus gas. If you could get a list of the additives in that gas, you would be very impressed. It will clean your engine, make it run smoother, and prevent many engine problems. No this isn't an add for Mobil, but that gas is really something. It's not the octane you're paying for (it is 93), but all of the good stuff that's in it. It is worth the extra money in the long run.

I'll echo, 93 is useless in your truck, and will actually cause drivability problems.

HI Octane!!

I have to disagree... I have used Reg, Plus and Premium... I have found that I get better gas milage out of the Premium than either the Reg or Plus... I also have fopund better milage using Exxon than Texaco or Citco... I have figured it out and I get better Miles/Dollar with the Premium gas than any other (including mixing grades) I have found no difference in how the truck drives (excelleration or cruising).. I would recommend Premium myself...
