Hello guys. I have remote start on my 2000 Explorer XLT 5.0. I remote started it today and when i got in. The rpms were running lower then normal, almost like she was going to stall. When i stop at a light or shes idling, The RPM would go up and down between 500-1000 RPM and it sounded like she was going to stall. But when i start driving shes fine. And while that was happening the battery guage was bouncing up and down. Theres no check engine light. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thank you fam!

EDIT:
Update: I started her when she was cold and she is still doing the same thing at idle, running low RPM and the battery gauge bouncing up and down. I opened the hood and it sounded like there was a huge air leak coming from where the belts are. I don't know what this could be and I'm really scared. Don't want to drive it and she stalls in the middle of the road. any help would be great!

Sounds like a classic case of vacuum leak. I don't own a 5.0, so don't know what could be causing an air leak down near the belts. Koda2000 on here is the 5.0 guru...so, I'm sure he'll chime in with some suggestions.

My SOHC did that once when I left a tube off on the driver side firewall.

The only things in the area of the belts that could sound like a huge vacuum leak is the air tube from the air filter box/MAF to the throttle body (or the smaller tube that goes from the oil filler tube to the large air tube). Other than a very low idle I don't know what this would have to do with the battery gauge going nuts. I would think a large vacuum leak would throw a CEL pretty quickly.

See if you can spot a disconnected hose in the area where you hear the air gushing. Otherwise, the most common cause of poor idling is a malfunctioning or clogged IAC (idle air control). They can sometimes be cleaned, but replacement is the only permanent cure. The battery gauge bouncing is probably just a symptom of the poor idle.

I probably would not drive it until I checked it out. The CEL is an indication of an emission problem only. It has nothing to do with mechanical problems.
