Procedure or disconnect of O2 sensor wire.

I have a 1996 Ford explorer 5.0 liter V8. I have DTC code 0133. O2 sensor circuit slow response Bank 1 Sensor 1. Does anybody know the procedure for getting to the connector for this sensor that is located way up under the tunnel above bell housing. I can't reach it to disconnect it.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 95-01 section. You could remove the front seats, and pull back the carpet to get to the access panel in the floor if you can't reach it from underneath the vehicle.

Brooklyn Bay is correct. Other than pulling the exhaust you have to go through the floor. Here is a great thread by Turdle. It's really easier than you would think. A half hour and you're there.

You don't pull the seats, you pull the console, 5 bolts, cut the carpet and there's the access door.
