Projector Headlights For 2003 Xlt Explorer?

They make a Projector Headlight for the Expedition does anyone know if they are going to or if they make one for the 02 and Up Explorer? The one for the Expedition is Carbon Fiber inside with Halo rings and a projector light in the enclosure it looks and performs great. Any help would be appreciated. :bounce:

Sorry, I've been trying to some too. So far no luck. I've even gone as far as checking for other car makes. The Montero is pretty close, but I haven't found the exact dimensions yet. I'll let you know if I find some though and let everyone know what you find out too...

Definitely needs a BUMP BUMP BUMP~

I've been doing some research. I know how to "make your own", relatively cost effecient as well. The only problem is, that there' s a flaw when you make it, because the ring you use isn't complete. There's a slight 1/4" or so gap when you make the ring.

Anyway, going to do more research and hopefully we can find something for us all or dimensions that might possibly fit (with possible necessary modifications).

If anyone comes across a HOW TO, that'd be appreciated because perhaps there are more possible ways to go about making one for yourself. Also, if anyone comes across any new info that would be great.

the current generation of explorer's have the best [functional] headlights of any explorer...

very distinct cut off and definite defined beam pattern, easily made out on the road.

the high beams are awesome.

do you not see very well in your ex?

have you changed bulbs?

HIR halogen infared bulbs give the 9006's about a +90% increase in light with standard wattage. they cost around $70.00 pair.

these really kick up the explorer lights.

You'll have to retrofit a pair of OEM projectors off another vehicle into your stock housings.

Makes sense, yeah I really like the current output of light in my X. However, there's always the ability to upgrade! When I get around to it, I guess I will just have to get ballsy and do some modding. :) Thx

the way they are made, it looks to me like it's impossible to "add" projectors to these units.

check the aim and up-grade your bulbs. you will SEE at night.

how old are you?

You can't just slide a projector in, it takes some modification. Who said they can't see driving? What's wrong with better light output?

I really think that it's pathetic that with all the other custom parts out there, even ones for the '02-'05 Ex, we don't have aftermarket, ready-made, plug'n'play (to quote Microsoft) projector headlights.

I really wanna put HID's in mine, but I hear so many people {breeder's term for female canine}ing about how someone put HID's in a car that wasn't meant for them, and they couldn't see and almost ran off the road.
Now, most of these people are driving small cars, and in borrowing the Camry a few nights ago, I came head to head on a 2-lane road, with an Expedition with aftermarket HID conversions on the headlights and fogs, and I did get kinda blinded. That said, I understand why they put HID's in projector housings.

Now, considering more and more people are finding the benefits of HIDs, why aren't these other companies who make all the other aftermarket parts for the 02-05 Explorer, make some {vulgar term for intercourse}ing projector headlights, instead of making us go out and try to find out how to shove our headlights in the oven, and do it ourselves, possibly causing more of a problem? I was told by a stockist I emailed that "projector headlights are not possbile for your vehicle." BULL{vulgar term for fecal matter}! It is very possible otherwise other people wouldn't have already done this project and posted it!!

If they want to make us a good one, give us seperate high and low beam projectors, a reflector for DRLs or secondary fogs, and a line of bi-color (white/amber) LEDs across the top to use as a parking light/turn signal. Something like what I'd seen ready made for an F-150.

I'm sorry for the rant, but I am physically tired from today, and I am just tired in general of all the other cars getting the good parts, while we get {vulgar past tense for intercourse} to the sidelines.

Hopefully someday we can buy them at Autozone, when we go get the parts for our next tune ups.

I'll install HID anyway as soon as they arrive, in my previews car i remove the cap in the headlight and cut off of light was really nice, not splash at all, it look like i have projectors in there.

I'll check how do they perform in my eX with and without the cap.

PS: i read that there has been several threats about the cap, but i could find then, if someone could point me some, i'll appreciate.

talk to not8taxi, he made his own..
