Projector Headlights

I've had an idea!!!

Don't worry, I was sitting down at the time.

anyway, I was thinking about cutting down some Subaru Impreza halo projectors down to fit inside the explorer housing, or some from a Fiat Punto Mk2... or possibly a 89-92 Civic...

What do you think? any ideas? this way I reckon we'd be able to get a projector and a full beam optic in each headlight...

Thats a good idea...If you can make it work...Go For It.

sort of, but if I can move the projector over to the outer edges a bit more, I'm sure I can get get the high beam optic in there too

That would be something you could also sent to a company for production.

its hard to move the projector over because space is so limited and the headlight gets smaller is it goes to the rear. That projector was hard to get in as it is...

What I was thinking is chop up one that's already been made, and somehow make it fit either inside the the explorer casing or find a way of gluing to the back of the casing to make it fit...

If you want HID high and low beams, you might want to go with what I just got. The projectors from an 06 G-35 will fit in like Afboy's, but inside the projector it has a "flapper" and controls high and low beam in the same projector.

I have tested them, and they work out great, but I have not installed them yet. Hopefully this weekend.

use some Bi-Xenon like off an Audi or a BMW... whatever is cheaper. This way you will still have hi and low beam and stay legal... for your inspections...

I'm thinking about doing it in the 1st generation but not untill I move to Europe later this year. I've got E-spec headlights in mine allready but this would work perfect...

Are you talking about the HID's with the flapper?

e46's I believe have the "flapper". Mine had it, but I cut off the motor due to limited space. A member on the forum went to some more extreme levels than I did in cutting and actually got it to work and fit.

the ones I got, the flapper is pulled by an electromagnet. It does not take up much space at all, so I think I will be able to fit it fine. Besides, with how it is designed, removing it won't save me any space.
