I am looking to replace the bulb in my mirrors with LEDs, but I can't figure out how to pop off the plastic underneath the mirror. I heard using a razor blade, I tried that several times with no luck. Am I missing something? Last time I tried it with a razor, the razor just cracked. Any ideas?

I used a thin bladed straight screw driver. The whole light assembly comes down and out of the mirror not just the lens. Then you twist the bulb out from there. I Tried LEDs in mine, but the ones I got just shined straight and didn't work out. Make sure you get a bulb that shines to the sides. The bulb sets on its side sorta and if it is a forward shining one you only get just a tiny bit of light to the ground. But man I loved that bluish glow. I hope to get some different ones soon.
Does this make sense?
