All of us 'Followers' just hope you can only go so far. . .so we can eventually catch up

Lookin good Rick

Rick were your old superlift springs the 118's or the 133's? Since those both have spring rates that are not the same. Or do you even know?

Don't know Ryan. The old springs were 4" lift coils from Superlift.

Ah gotcha... well then there goes that question! :) It does however make my future homework easier knowing a decent spring rate to start out at. :D

Only if you mount your coil overs back on the links... The rate is different if you mount them on top of the axles like most are setup.

Why did you go back on the links the way you did vice the standard on top of the axles? I am sure there is a good reason besides costing more to strengthen the lower control arms.

Look at the rear trailing arm suspension of a desert race truck.

The coilovers and by-pass dampers are mounted right behind the cab versus on top of the axle.

The main advantage is that you can use a shorter stroke damper and still get the wheel travel at the axle. It's called a machanical advantage.

What Cory said, and the fact that in this photo -
pumpkin_travel.jpg

we know we have the travel we want with the 10" shock. So it was just a matter of tweaking the setup to handle coil overs in place of the shocks.

Just think..

All this, just to get rid of J-clips. :D

Hey Tom, looking at your signature gave me an idea... How about swapping the VFR motor into the Zuk to give it some get up and go!!:D

Alright!! :bounce: :bounce: Just about done! I actually got to drive it today and put it on the ramp. The shocks need to be revalved. They are too soft right now. It dives into sharp corners pretty severly.

Now that the front is done it's obvious the rear needs to be reworked to match the travel of the front... Ahhhh I smell another project
