Im looking at buying a 1999 ford ranger, and it has a spacer 2inch lift, and there was one thing that concerned me about it. While driving the car i noticed that the steering wheel was a little crooked, and I asked the guy about it and he said it was because of the lift. I took my hands off the steering wheel and it continued to drive straight. I also hit the brakes with my hands off the wheel and still went straight. Anyboddy have experience with this happening when lifting a truck?

The steering wheel isn't straight because it needs an alignment

Is that because of the lift?

Lifting a vehicle generally requires an alignment afterwards, however you should get an alignment done every so often. Longer tire life and a better handling vehicle.
The ranger may not even really need an alignment, but if it was done recently who ever did it didn't line up the wheel.
