Question about red explorer.

Hey i was just wondering in the second generation of explorers. What years was the 4 door XLT available in the bright red? I don't like the burgundy/maroon color.

Also what year did they start putting the rear air and stereo controls in them.

I'm not sure about the color part of the question but as for the rear air, it was available starting in 1995 with the redesign.

I'm pretty sure that the bright red you're looking for premiered in 1998... Same red as the bright red on the Sport that was always available in the 2nd gens...

the bright red that I think you are thinking of appeared at least in '96 according to my '96 sales brochure. Mine's the slightly darker 'Dr. Pepper' red that everyone around D/FW has.
