QuickLifts with AWD

Anyone know of any issues with installing Rancho Loaded quickLifts with AWD? I always thought there were issues with premature failure of the front CV joints with any change to suspension height.

Any info would be great!

No, the CV & ball joint angles are well within acceptable limits with the quick lift. Alignment is another story, obviously you will need an alignment afterwards, and possibly camber kits (~$20) for the rear wheels. Best wishes.

Thanks drdoom. Do you have the quickLifts? If so, how's the ride? I assume a bit stiffer than say the Monroe Quick-Struts.
 






Yes I have them on all four, got the $126 rebate too! The ride is fine with good handling, and the 9-position damping is excellent and allows you to adjust. I am currently running on 6, which keeps things steady going through swales and what not. I have an install tip thread here too.
 






Camber Kits

FYI you will need a four wheel alignment afterwards, as the suspension geometry is changed as a result of installing lifts on an independent suspension. Toe is affected as well as camber. I installed MOOG camber kits on the rear lower control arms. Although I am not entirely certain this is necessary, it does make the adjustments simple & precise. I cranked them all the way in. It's an easy job, which I did from my creeper, using a floor jack (21mm socket to remove, and a 22mm to install, & channel locks to adjust). After installing the kits, I gave the rear toe links three full turns in (19mm combo wrench for the lock nut, 22mm for the adjuster), which put me pretty close. Best wishes.

I have them on my AWD Mountaineer, got an alignment done after and it has been fine.
 






I really like mine, truck looks & drives great, sits at or above F150s & Expeditions. And I can go underneath with my creeper without jacking it up.
