My ABS light comes on and stays on when I start the Explorer all the time now. The brake light also comes on as well. I took off the ABS speed sensor on the rear axle and it was at 1400 Ohms where it should be. I don't think it is that sensor. My brake fluid is topped off too. After searching this site and reading numerous posts, I narrowed my problem down to the rear abs (RABS) valve. I did the ABS self test and it blinked 4 times meaning something is wrong with the valve.
Now I have a few questions:
1) Would bleeding the brakes help to fix the problem?
2)What is the easiest way to remove the valve? Take the front driveline off?
3)Can I rebuild it myself or clean it?
4)Should I just drop $120 for a new one and hope it fixes my problem?
Thanks for your help
