I pulled a radio bezel from a explorer that was in the junkyard so i can have the back defrost button for my off road lights

So how do i get the wiper piece off an put the window up down vent in its places

Do i just grind off the plastic over hang an pull it off? But then how do i get the replacement to stick?

Got it

It looks like the tops of all 4 pegs were melted a little to hold it on from backing off

Hopefull it doesnt look dumb lol

The one i found from the junkyard is black an mine is like a silver color

Yeah, I think there was a little glue or something on the pins. If your worried about the color you can always paint it. Just peel off that rubber coating, and paint away. Wetsanding will make it look factory. Check out the link in my signature, there's some pictures of how I did mine, or just search "painted radio bezel". Good luck!

I used a soldering iron to melt the plastic in and out. Worked great for me.

Just a little tip . Something I had trouble with. The stock fog light is a ground switch in that . instead of interrupting the 12v , it interrupts the ground. Took me a little while to figure that out .

Is it possible to use the defrost switch to turn on / off my offroad lights? The other foglight switch i have is sticking

Should be able to use the defrost switch, it's just a simple on/ off switch like the fog light switch.

Can someone post pics of both and what to look for so I can decide if I want to do it
