Ive got the 6 Disc radio with Sirius ready. The illumination has gone to **** and Im looking into a new unit. I want to keep it more factory

Will the factory Nav units work as a swap in or will it need something more? If it can is there any part numbers that do or do not work as I see there are a couple radio options

The factory Nav unit is not a direct swap in. It requires an external amp, a new steering wheel control switch, and new wiring to interface with the clockspring, sync, and nav antenna (built into the sirius antenna). You can buy a kit that has all the parts.

I did the changeover in my '10 STA and it works great, but has a couple of idiosyncrasies. It took me about a day to do the changeover, glad I did it, but it was a job.

A couple of vendors can supply you with the kits and advice.
OEMAutoPartsCo.com and 4Dtech.com.

Here is my before, during and after pics. You will also have to get into the console to interface with the sync unit.

If you decide to do the job, I would be willing to answer any questions about it I can.
