All,
I looked at forum and i can´t find exactly what i need...
I need a wiring harness diagram for a 1997 Ford Explorer radio.
The radio has 2 conectors + 1 for antenna.
These 2 connectors has cutted, and i need the diagram to reinstall and sounds up the radio!
01 of these conectors i fixed, and the radio turns on after that, but no sound on speakers. The second conector is the problem to fix.

I´m waiting for any help.

Best Regards

what do you mean they were cut, do you still have the plugs? i have a harness for a 97 (premium sound), and it has info about the colors i think..

Ricky,
Yes, the harness were cut by the previous owner...
I bought in the junkyard another plug, but the wiring colors are different, so i can´t fix it...
If you can, send me a picture of the harness of this Premium sound, it will help me with the color numbers.

Best Regards

OK here's the pic of the 2 plugs, gotta D/L it - http://tinyurl.com/ye5888d

Left Plug:

yellow - 12v constant
orange/black - not used
red - 12v ignition/switched
orange/white - dimmer (I didn't use this wire)
orange - dash light illumination (didn't use this 1 either)
black - 12v ground
blue - power antenna (this won't work for the antenna I don't think)
blue white - 12v [stock] amp turn-on

Right Plug:

white - left front positive
white/black - left front negative
gray - right front positive
gray/black - right front negative
green - left rear positive
green/black - left rear negative
violet - right rear positive
violet/black - right rear negative
black/white - stock amp ground

Now keep in mind, if you have the stock amp and you haven't bypassed it, you have to connect the 2 wires for it, or else you'll get no sound out of the speakers.. What I did was, I connected the blue/white 12v amp wire to the power antenna wire on the stereo side (since I don't use the power antenna wire).. You could also connect it to a remote turn-on wire, but I didn't have 1 of those on my stereo harness.. Then you connect the black/white amp ground wire on the other plug, right into the main stereo ground, so you'd twist all 3 wires together..

If you do have the stock amp, you're better off trying to bypass it, cuz it's not ideal when you're amplifying the signal coming from the stereo.. It's too much power, and you can't put the volume or bass too loud.. It's still an improvement over stock tho, if you do it like that.. But if you decide to bypass it by getting the bypass cable, then you don't connect those 2 wires I just mentioned.. After I bypassed it I just disconnected the 12v amp wire, but kept the other black/white 1 still grounded.. Then if you decide to add on your own amp at a later time, just use the power antenna wire again on the stereo side of the harness for the remote turn-on..

Oh OK, I believe you have the regular sound system (not premium).. And that one uses this harness - http://tinyurl.com/yacdgod
Hopefully that wiring is legit and will work, cuz some of the wires look frayed.. I'd put electrical tape over any areas with exposed wire.. If you found out the wire colors for that other harness, then you'd know which 1 is which.. I mean I was guess that the left wire is the 12v constant, and they go in order, since that part seems to be the same for regular/premium, but I can't be sure.... Good luck

i disconnected the iec auloc from the stock wiring thinking i had to plug it in new stereo (virtual reality sound labs mp3/cd/usb). now i have power, stereo equalizer moves, but i get no sound from the speaker. any help would be greatly appreciated.
