I've been having some misfire trouble with my 1998 Ranger XLT 3.0L V6. It started as a rough idle with a P306 cylinder 6 misfire code, which was remedied by new spark plugs and wires. Soon, the same systems returned, and my coilpack tested bad, so I replaced that, and it was solid and smooth for about a week, including over a 12 hour drive. Now, it's riding rough again, and giving me a P300 multiple misfire detected. I haven't noticed any smelly exhaust though.
Does anyone have any advice on what to look at or replace next? Could it possibly still be originating in cylinder 6? Thanks.
