I have a 93 Ranger with 3.0 V6 2WD, automatic. Once in gear the transmission shifts flawlessly with no slipping in any gear, the problem is when I put it in drive or reverse to start off, it does not engage for several second and in some cases I have to feather the throttle for it to do so. Many times when I stop
it will disengage again and I must feather the throttle once again in order for it to re-engage.
Has any one experienced this? and if so what did you find was the problem?

Thanks

Manny

I had the same problem with my 96 Limited EX. I put some lucas tranny fix in it and solved the problem.

I have experianced that only when I was low on fluid. Could also be a stuffed filter.
