My 2004 Ranger came with only a front sway bar. I added a stock Ranger sway bar from a 98 4x4. It is 1/2". It flattened the cornering a little. I have a lead on a 1" rear bar from a Bronco II. If I get it, I will switch it out for the stock Ranger bar in the rear, and get a 1 3/8" Explorer front bar to replace my 1" bar.
But, I'm wondering if there is a reason that the stock Ranger bars are only 1/2". The Bronco and the Explorer both have more force on the rear sway bar through more rear weight distribution and a higher center of gravity, so a thicker bar would make sense. The thing I'm worried about is making the truck too stiff. I don't want to buy the bars and regret the decision.
