Ranger T-case swap

I have a 2000 x with a 4.0 OHV with awd, I was wondering if there is a way to swap in a t-case with full time 2wd, Would a t-case out of a ranger work, I would prefer a manual t-case. I already used the search, and came up cold. any help would be appreciated.

Came up cold on the search? I guess it's a matter of search terms, because I know this has been discussed before. In fact, it seems like there was a good thread about someone who put a 13-54 into his 2nd gen.

From what I can gather, the 13-54 and 4405 use the same "bolt patterns" and such, so physically the swap should be straightforward. I don't know how your GEM will like not having a transfer case to control. Information at TRS claims that the 1354 has been used in Rangers up to '04, and since Rangers used the 5R55E transmission as well, it should swap in.
