My sohc 4.0 is experiencing a minor clicking/ticking noise.
The intake also seems to sound louder although it might just be my imagination
The noise not coming from the pullies as I have started the motor without the belt and it is still making the noise.
The frequency of the noise is somewhat inconsistent but does not change speed with the RPM of the engine.
It is also present while the transmission is in neutral and appears to be coming from the top/rear of the motor. possibly the intake manifold
